Once again, sorry I missed this, Bill. If you didn't see my other comment, I was very ill the day you were here. I think I see some of my students in the audience, however. :o) FF is making an impact in my classes -- and beyond -- a student told me the other day how much his grandfather liked the book. This was a student who was otherwise pretty disengaged -- the book sucked him into the "action," so to speak. Keep up the great work, Bill!

Hi Bill -- sorry I missed you -- I came down with a sore throat from hell couldn't make it. It was offered as EC to my students so hopefully some of them made it. I live in Lawrence, so it was doubly disappointing to hear you may have been here, too. I've been out of it since Wednesday morning -- only now emerging from the fog.

I am starting to get into some deeper waters on the HH project -- will keep you abreast on that. Safe travels! -- hope to catch you down the road!

There is a fine school of heterodox economists at University of Missouri-Kansas City. I'm sure your understanding of founding finance would get a very good reception there because these people encounter some of the same problems with mainstream economics you write of in your book.

I've attended lectures by William K. Black and Michael Hudson in Chicago and they are very good presenters.

I've never been to KC but I hope some of their students attend your talk. I'm sure it would be of interest to them.

Great post. Of course it extends beyond journalism to music, art, poetry, etc. Has for a long time. Patronage system? Also, impacting education, engineering... It seems no one really wants to pay for anything anymore. What is the way out?
